Before enrolling, please ensure you  read and understand the information below.

REQUIREMENTS
  • We require all students to demonstrate Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills at Level 3 or above. You must complete our Learning, Literacy and Numeracy Quiz as part of your enrolment for us to assess your level.
  • Students should have an minimum of 2 years practical experience in cattle operations.
  • Students should be currently employed or actively involved in a beef or dairy cattle enterprise that undertakes breeding activities.
  • Students must have regular access to suitable cattle, workplace facilities and equipment to complete the practical and work-based assessment activities.
  • Students need workplace/employer support to complete verification statements if required.
  • Students must be physically capable of handling livestock and working outdoors in variable conditions.
  • Student should be comfortable with online learning and self-directed study
  • Basic computer skills - use of email, documents and spreadsheets.
  • The ability to connect to online sessions with a computer, laptop or tablet with a microphone and camera built in or connected for online Teams meetings.
  • Students require a computer or laptop with internet access for the online learning parts of the units. A mobile phone is not suitable for this program.
  • Please complete your own enrolment form.
    To meet ASQA requirements, each student must complete and sign their own enrolment form. This ensures you receive all the information about your course, provide your own personal details, complete the Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) questions, and confirm the declarations yourself.
    If you need help using the online form, we're happy to assist – but the answers and declarations must come from you.

UNITS, DURATION, DELIVERY and ASSESSMENTS

THIS PROGRAM INCLUDES the following units -

  • AHCLSK513 Develop livestock health and welfare strategies
  • AHCLSK423 Develop feeding plans for livestock
  • Clustered - Breeding Plan
    • AHCLSK421 Supervise natural mating of livestock
    • AHCBUS408 Operate within a budget framework
    • AHCAGB405 Analyse and interpret production data
    • AHCLSK509 Develop and implement a breeding strategy
  • AHCAGB521 Select and use agricultural technology
  • AHCBUS408 Operate within a budget framework

These nationally recognised units are delivered online as part of the Cattle Reproduction Management program.

The program is delivered through blended learning with self-paced learning, self directed learning, workplace training, scheduled webinars and guest industry speakers, providing participants with practical and strategic skills in livestock reproduction.

Students will receive a Statement of Attainment for all completed units in accordance with VET requirements and the Course Fee Payment & Cancellation Policy, including payment of agreed fees associated with the relevant training product.

DURATION

  • approx. 9 months Part Time with scheduled breaks over holiday periods as applicable.
  • Delivered in a scheduled training cycle with enrolments available throughout the cycle at the start of each Unit. 

DELIVERY includes -

  • An Induction Webinar which forms part of the first online session
  • Fortnightly approx. 2 hour online sessions with your Trainer from 6pm to 8pm.
  • Sessions will be recorded and accessible after the online session for those unable to attend.
  • A small number of additional online sessions scheduled for presentation of assessments etc.

The learning material is self paced with interactive online components.

ASSESSMENTS

This Training Program is assessed through -

  • Written knowledge assessments
  • Portfolios
  • Practical demonstrations (Live and video recordings)

to demonstrate skill and competency.

CAREER AND STUDY PATHWAYS

Where can this course take me?

Upon completion students may pursue roles in cattle livestock management, farm operations, or agricultural consultancy, with practical skills to manage animal health, breeding, feeding, and production systems effective.

Students can also complete the following Training Programs offered by Catagra Group Training

  • Advanced Cattle Ultrasound Pregnancy Testing (non-accredited with a pre-requisite of AHCLSK339 Pregnancy Test Livestock)
  • Cattle Artificial Insemination & Fertility Managment (AHCAIS304 Artificially Inseminate Livestock and AHCLSK341 Coordinate Artificial Insemination & Fertility Management)
  • Sheep Pregnancy Scanning (non-accredited)

Each pathway is designed to enhance practical capability, industry knowledge, and career  progression within the agricultural sector.

TRAINING LOCATIONS AND DATES

  • Training is delivered completely online. 

  • This program is delivered across 7 units in a scheduled training cycle.
  • You don't have to wait for the beginning of a new program intake to get started. New students can enrol throughout the year and commence training at the beginning of the next available unit.
  • Next training cycle commences 5th October 2026.

STUDENT SUPPORT, RPL AND CREDIT TRANSFER
  • Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is available for relevant skills and knowledge gained through work or life experience. Indicate your interest on the Enrolment Form. An RPL Application Form will be provided and assessed in accordance with CGT policies and procedures.
  • Credit Transfer may be granted for units already successfully completed, supported by appropriate verified certification or an authenticated VET transcript, and subject to CGT’s Credit Transfer process.

Approved Credit Transfer reduces the course fee by the allocated fee for each credited unit. The adjusted course fee and payment schedule will be confirmed in your Offer of Placement or an agreed variation.

RPL involves assessment and is considered separately; it does not automatically receive the same fee reduction.

Catagra Group Training provides access to a range of support services including:

COST, REFUND & CANCELLATION

Total Training Program fee is $3,300 (GST free)

This covers training and assessment for the seven units listed in this Information Sheet.

Option 1 - Two payments

$1,500 on acceptance of your Offer of Placement to confirm enrolment.

$1,800 due in Week 25, with the invoice issued in Week 23.

Option 2 - Three payments

$1,500 on acceptance of your Offer of Placement.

$1,000 due in Week 13 and $800 due in Week 25.

Option 3 - Direct debit instalments

$500 on acceptance of your Offer of Placement, followed by either:

8 monthly payments of $350, or 32 weekly payments of $87.50.

Direct debit instalments commence from the agreed training commencement date and are collected through CGT’s approved payment provider. Monthly means calendar-monthly; weekly means every seven days. A direct debit authority is required.

Course weeks are counted from your Start Date.

Your Offer of Placement confirms the actual payment dates and any Credit Transfer adjustment.

No payment is required to complete your enrolment. Select or confirm your payment option when accepting your offer.

The initial payment is part of your total course fee and secures your place.
